Get It In Writing—Contract Class

When you play a gig, are you getting a signed, written agreement? If the answer is “no,” you’re taking a risk that there may be honest misunderstanding about pay or other details – and in some cases, that a club owner may simply not follow through on what was agreed on.
Fair Trade Music and Local 76-493 will be holding classes every two months on how to get a fair, enforceable contract, and what should go into those agreements. The classes are open to all musicians without charge.
The first class will be Monday, April 25, from 7:00-9:00 pm at the Local, 3209 Eastlake Avenue E, just south of the University Bridge. To keep the classes small enough for discussion, we ask that you register in advance. To register or for more information, please contact Paul Bigman, paul@local76-493.org, or by telephone or text at 206-214-6169.
